George Clooney Covers Emmy® Magazine's Special Pictorial Issue

The first-ever "Emmy Bash Photo Splash" edition includes more than 250 exclusive images from the 62nd Primetime Emmys.

A tuxedo-clad George Clooney looks dapper on the cover of the "Emmy Bash Photo Splash" issue of the award-winning emmy® Magazine. In its first-ever keepsake issue, the only comprehensive collection of photography capturing all of the excitement from television’s biggest night, "Emmy Bash Photo Splash" includes more than 250 exclusive images from the red carpet arrivals, stars in the audience, behind-the-scenes, the Governor’s Ball and the Creative Arts Awards, as well as the Primetime Emmy Awards telecast’s most memorable moments. Emmy® magazine is the official publication of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. This 64-page special edition issue hits newsstands on September 14. A limited number of issues will be available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis at www.emmys.com. To purchase this special issue, click here. Digital editions of the magazine are also available for purchase on www.zinio.com. At the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards, George Clooney received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award. Reflecting the life and accomplishments of entertainment legend Bob Hope, the award is presented to an individual in the telecommunications industry whose humanitarian work has brought credit to the industry and whose deeds and actions have a lasting impact on society. Clooney is only the third person to receive this prestigious award. Oprah Winfrey and Danny Thomas (presented posthumously and accepted by his daughter, actress Marlo Thomas) are the only other recipients since the award’s establishment in 2002. Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series nominee Julianna Margulies, who presented the honor to her former ER co-star, described Clooney as “A true driving force behind remarkable TV events like America: A Tribute to Heroes, Tsunami Aid: A Concert for Hope and, most recently, the Hope for Haiti Now telethon. Time and time again, George Clooney has used the power of television to raise money where it is needed most and to transform hopelessness into hope.” “It’s important to remember how much good can get done, because we live in such strange times where bad behavior sucks up all the attention and the press,” said Clooney upon accepting his award. “And the people who really need the spotlight — the Haitians, the Sudanese, people in the Gulf Coast on the five-year anniversary [of Hurricane Katrina], the people of Pakistan — they can’t get any.” One of the big night’s key destinations was emmy® magazine’s backstage portrait studio, with its luxurious golden-walled set, where winners and presenters, including Clooney as well as Bryan Cranston, Jane Lynch, Al Pacino, Edie Falco, Eric Stonestreet, Kyra Sedgwick, Jim Parsons, Claire Danes, the casts of Modern Family, Mad Men and True Blood and many more, posed for premier photographer Charles Bush for "Emmy Bash Photo Splash." “It was a great evening and people loved our set,” said Charles Bush. “It gave us great opportunities for different pictures and it set the tone for some really wonderful shooting.” Purchase information is available here.
