Me and My Emmy: Carolyn Omine

The producer feels grateful to write for characters that have rich histories.

Emmy Tally: Four

How She Got the Gold: As executive producer/coexecutive producer/producer for The Simpsons, which won outstanding animated program in 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2006.

Now for the Noms: Omine has been nominated eleven times for her work on The Simpsons.

Living the Dream: "I love going to the Emmy Awards. I love seeing my workmates all dressed up. The Governors Ball is always over the top, beautifully decorated — it feels like walking into a dream. I try not to gawk at celebrities, but I don't always succeed. It's a memorable evening."

Visual Cues: "I keep my Emmys on a bookcase in my office. They are a reminder that your wildest dreams can come true."

Simpsons Synergy: "It's a rare privilege to write for characters that have such rich histories. Everyone on our production team — producers, animators, editors, musicians — knows the show on a very deep level and is excellent at what they do. It's a great joy to be able to create within that well-oiled machine. But I have to say, spending my days in the writers' room, surrounded by smart, funny weirdos — that's the part of the job I'm most grateful for. I laugh all day."
