Irving Elman, Writer and Producer with Thousands of Credits

Elman got his start as a playwright and went on to achieve enormous success in television.

Irving Elman, a writer and producer whose work included success in theater,film and television, died November 22, 2011, in La Jolla, Calif. He was 96.

Born in New Jersey, Elman got his start as a Broadway playwright and went on to write for the movies before turning to television, where he logged thousands of credits in episodic series as well as daytime dramas,

His better known TV credits included Studio One, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Verdict Is Yours, The Eleventh Hour, Search for Tomorrow, General Hospital, Ben Casey,The High Chaparral and Slattery’s People, for which he received two Primetime Emmy nominations.
