Anti-Semitism Support Resources

As a member of the Television Academy, you have an opportunity to use your position to counter harmful tropes against marginalized communities. With accounts of growing anti-Semitism in the country, we want to share opportunities to learn more about the Jewish community and the history of harmful narratives about this community.
Here are three ways to get started:
To understand what anti-Semitism is, what harmful Jewish tropes are, and why they exist, visit: ADL's "Antisemitism Uncovered" Guide
To bring speakers to your company or writer's room: Museum of Tolerance's Training Workshops and Speaking Services
To assess and counter religious prejudice in the workplace: Tanenbaum's Workplace Resources
According to a 2020 study from the Pew Research Center, more than one-third of U.S. Jews reported hearing a recent anti-Semitic trope in their presence. Today, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) stated that there is a "broad threat to synagogues" across the country.
You can be a part of telling authentic, uplifting stories about the Jewish community - as an individual or within your professional content.
If you have any questions about countering anti-Semitic sentiment in media, or about countering harmful narratives in general, please contact Gabriele Almon (almon@televisionacademy.com).
