Teddy Rooney was a former child actor, and the son of performers Mickey Rooney and Martha Vickers.

The younger Rooney earned his first acting credit at the age of seven, with a 1957 episode of Playhouse 90, in which he appeared with his mother. He also had roles on the series The Rebel; Shirley Temple’s Storybook, in which he played Huck Finn; The Dinah Shore Chevy Show; Wagon Train; General Electric Theater; The Rifleman; Lassie; and McHale’s Navy.

In 1958, Rooney appeared as his father’s son in Andy Hardy Comes Home, the last of the fifteen films in which the elder Rooney played Hardy, a young man from the fictional midwestern town of Carvel.

Teddy Rooney also appeared in the films It Happened to Jane, starring Doris Day and Jack Lemmon; Seven Ways from Sundown; and the television movie The Ransom of Red Chief.

Additionally, Rooney made appearances on the variety and talk shows The Linkletter Show, The Jack Paar Tonight Show, Startime, and The Dick Clark Show.

In the early 1960s, Rooney quit his acting work to pursue a career as a musician. He played bass and sang with his siblings in a group called The Rooney Brothers, and was a member of the garage band The Yellow Payges.

Rooney died July 2, 2016, in Southern California. He was 66.
