Tab Hunter was an American actor, pop singer, film producer, and author.

He starred in more than 40 films and was a well-known Hollywood star of the 1950s and 1960s.

Hunter had a 1957 hit record with the song "Young Love," which was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for six weeks and became one of the larger hits of the rock & roll era. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold record.

Hunter starred on NBC's The Tab Hunter Show, playing a bachelor cartoonist who lives in Malibu. The show had moderate ratings (due to being scheduled opposite The Ed Sullivan Show) and lasted only one season (36 episodes), but was a huge hit in the United Kingdom, where it ranked as one of the top situation comedies of the year.

Hunter’s other television work includes appearances on episodes of Combat, Burke’s Law, Cannon, The Six Million Dollar Man, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, McMillan & Wife, The Love Boat, Police Woman, Hawaii Five-0, Charlie’s Angels, Benson, and The Fall Guy.

Hunter died July 8, 2018, in Santa Barbara, California. He was 86.
