Robert Mills

Robert Mills is senior vice president, Alternative Series, Specials & Late-Night Programming, ABC Entertainment. In this position, he is charged with development, current production and specials for ABC's alternative series. He has oversight of the Alternative Series staff and reports to Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment.

Mills and his group oversee production on star-making sensation "American Idol"; reality phenomenon "Shark Tank"; "The Bachelor" franchise; long-running hits "Dancing with the Stars" and "America's Funniest Home Videos"; the popular "Summer Fun & Games" programming block, including "The $100,000 Pyramid," "Celebrity Family Feud," "Don't," "Holey Moley," "Match Game," "Press Your Luck" and "To Tell the Truth"; "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire"; holiday favorites "The Great American Baking Show" and "The Great Christmas Light Fight"; late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"; as well as two critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning "Live in Front of a Studio Audience" specials. His role also includes oversight of network special events, including "The Oscars," "The CMA Awards" and the "American Music Awards."

Additionally, Mills and his group have continued to successfully navigate the television programming landscape during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, overseeing two iterations of "The Disney Family Singalong" specials this past spring and an innovative "72nd Emmy Awards"; as well as launching the highly anticipated new season of "The Bachelorette," and greenlighting production on multiple new series including "Supermarket Sweep," "Emergency Call" and "Ultimate Surfer."

Mills was previously vice president, Alternative Series, ABC Entertainment. Prior to joining ABC's Alternative department in 2003, Mills began his career as an assistant in the Alternative department at CAA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stonehill College and a Master of Fine Arts in film from Loyola Marymount University. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
