Peter Wyngarde was an actor best known for playing the character Jason King, a bestselling novelist turned sleuth, in two British television series: Department S (1969–70) and Jason King (1971–72).
From the mid-1950s, Wyngarde had numerous roles in British feature films, television plays and television series guest appearances.
He was also familiar to U.S. audiences for his appearances on episodes of Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color, The Avengers, The Saint, I Spy, The Prisoner, and Doctor Who.
Wyngarde died January 15, 2018, in Chelsea, London, England. He was 90.
