Mel Winkler was an American actor and voice over artist.

A U.S. Army veteran, Winkler made his onscreen debut as Dr. Simon Harris on the daytime soap opera The Doctors. He appeared in 68 episodes of the show and would go on to guest star in other television programs such as The Cosby Show, Star Trek: Voyager, Touched by an Angel, Babylon 5, ER, The Shield, and The Unit.

The well known character actor also appeared on the big screen in films such as All the Right Moves (1983), Heaven Help Us (1985), Doc Hollywood (1991), Devil in a Blue Dress (1995), and Coach Carter (2005).

Winkler also lent his voice to the Crash Bandicoot video games as Aku Aku, to the animated series The New Batman Adventures, as Lucius Fox, and to Nickelodeon's Oswald, as Johnny Snowman.

Winkler died June 11, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. He was 78.
