Matt Villines was a director best known for his work on Saturday Night Live. Villines was one half of the directing duo Matt & Oz, who were also responsible for directing numerous sketches for "Funny or Die."
Villines joined SNL in 2012 with his directing partner Oz Rodriguez. The pair directed sketches including “Sad Mouse,” featuring Bruno Mars as a street performer in Times Square, “Monster Pals,” “Back Home Ballers,” “Prom Queen,” “Uber for Jen,” “The Jay Z Story,” and the music video “(Do It In My) Twin Bed.”
Villines and Rodriguez met in film school, before teaming up to shoot videos for SuperDeluxe.com. They later shot videos for "Funny or Die," including “The Wire: The Musical” “Charlie Sheen’s Winning Recipe” and “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.”

Villines died of cancer on July 9, 2016, in Los Angeles. He was 39.
