Len Wein was an American comic book writer and editor best known for co-creating the DC Comics characters Swamp Thing and Marvel Comics' Wolverine, and for helping revive the Marvel superhero team the X-Men, including the co-creation of Nightcrawler, Storm and Colossus.

Additionally, he was the editor for writer Alan Moore and illustrator Dave Gibbons' influential DC miniseries Watchmen.

Wein’s creations have been used frequently in both films and television, including the series Spider-Man, Swamp Thing, Human Target, Batman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Justice League, Teen Titans, Smallville, Wolverine, Young Justice and Luke Cage.

His writing credits included the series Exosquad, The Transformers, The Incredible Hulk, Street Fighter: The Animated Series, X-Men, Godzilla: The Series, RoboCop: Alpha Commando and Avengers: United They Stand, Ben 10, and Wild Card.

He was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2008.

Wein died September 10, 2017, in Los Angeles. He was 69.
