Brenda Dale Knox, known professionally as The Lady Chablis, was a transgender performer best known for playing herself in the 1997 film Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, based on the book of the same name.
The film, directed by Clint Eastwood, starred John Cusack and Kevin Spacey and followed the story of a visiting reporter who becomes entangled in the murder trial of a local millionaire in Savannah, Georgia. Chablis essentially played herself, Chablis Deveau, a transgender woman and local drag performer.
Chablis went on to appear as herself in the A&E TV documentary Midnight in Savannah, as well as the series Ruby and Stranded with Cash Peters.
