Jessica Klein was an American writer and producer.

Born in Manhattan, Klein graduated from the Harvard Radcliffe Institute in 1977 with a degree in psychology and social relations.

Klein first ventured into the television industry at the Children’s Television Workshop in New York as an assistant on Sesame Street.

She is best known for her six seasons as writer, story editor, and producer on Beverly Hills 90210, beginning with its second season in 1991. Klein worked alongside her husband, writer/producer Steve Wasserman, who passed away in 1998.

Klein also had writing credits on Capitol, Mancuso, FBI (with Robert Loggia), Northern Exposure, Gabriel’s Fire (with James Earl Jones), and As The World Turns. Her last credit as a writer was in 2013 for 39 episodes of One Life To Live.

In February 2019, Klein was hired by digital network Brat TV to oversee creative development and original programming aimed to attract Generation Z.

Klein died July 13, 2022, in Los Angeles, California. She was 66.
