Janet Reno was the first woman to serve as U.S. Attorney General and was the second-longest serving Attorney General in U.S. history. She served from 1993 until 2001, during Bill Clinton’s presidency.

As a public figure, Reno appeared semi-regularly on television, including appearances on American Justice, Frontline, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Real Time with Bill Maher and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

She also voiced herself on an episode of The Simpsons, and appeared as herself on a 2001 episode of Saturday Night Live, where she was regularly parodied by Will Farrell in the recurring sketch “Janet Reno’s Dance Party.”

Reno died November 7, 2016, in Miami-Dade County, Florida. She was 78.
