Harry Gittes

Harry Gittes was a producer best known for his work on three films starring Jack Nicholson, who was also a close friend. Gittes produced Drive, He Said; Goin' South and About Schmidt, and was also the namesake for Nicholson’s character in Chinatown.

Additionally, he contributed to the films Harry and Walter Go to New York, starring James Caan, Elliott Gould and Michael Caine; Little Nikita, starring Sidney Poitier and River Phoenix; Breaking In, starring Burt Reynolds; and The Girl Next Door, with Elisha Cuthbert and Emile Hirsch.

He also worked on the television movies Dangerous Company, starring Beau Bridges and Hey, Hey, Hey, It's Fat Albert.

Gittes died September 2, 2017, in Los Angeles. He was 81.
