Gwen Ifill was a journalist and reporter best known for her work with PBS.

She also appeared on episodes of Meet the Press, Face the Nation, Washington Week in Review, Charlie Rose, This Week and The Daily Show.

Ifill began her career in print journalism and worked at The Baltimore Evening Sun, The Washington Post and The New York Times before moving into television, first at NBC and then PBS.

She was the first female, African-American moderator of Washington Week and was co-host of PBS NewsHour, appearing on 825 episodes of the latter. Ifill also moderated the vice-presidential debates in 2008 and 2012.

Ifill died November 14, 2016, in Washington, District of Columbia. She was 61.
