Gary B. Kibbe

Gary B. Kibbe was an American cinematographer.

Kibbe began his career in the Warner Bros. camera department as a camera operator working on productions such as Melvin and Howard (1980), Halloween II (1981), Cannery Row (1982), Star 80 (1993), Sixteen Candles (1984), Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Stand By Me (1986), Misery (1990), and City Slickers (1991).

He served as John Carpenter’s cinematographer on seven films including They Live (1988), Vampires (1998), and Escape From L.A. (1996) and he also shot Ghosts of Mars (2001), Village of the Dammed (1995), In the Mouth of Madness (1995), Double Dragon (1994), RoboCop3, (1993), and Prince of Darkness (1987).

Kibbe photographed several television productions: The Librarians, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Soldier of Fortune, Inc., and Tales from the Crypt.

Kibbe died March 9, 2020, in Burbank, California. He was 79.
