David S. Cass Sr.

David S. Cass Sr. was an American actor, director, and stuntman.

He began his career performing stunt work on John Wayne's McLintock! (1963) and would go on to alternate between acting and stunts for nearly 20 years before moving into directing.

As an actor, Cass appeared in a number of television series including Wagon Train, Hondo, The Wild Wild West, Bonanza, Mission: Impossible, The Waltons, Wonder Woman, The Rockford Files, Fantasy Island, and Knight Rider.

In addition to stunt coordinating, he segued into a directing career as a second unit director on Smokey and the Bandit Part 3 (1983). Cass would eventually become a sought-after director for TV movies and mini-series, standing at the helm of nearly 40 projects.

Cass died August 28, 2020, in Woodland Hills, California. He was 78.
