Craig Sager

Craig Sager was a sportscaster who worked for many years as a sideline reporter for National Basketball Association television broadcasts on TNT. Well liked and respected by players, coaches, executives and colleagues, Sager was known for his colorful personality and especially for his colorful — literally — attire.

His eye-catching wardrobe included a rainbow of hues, as well as plaids, stripes, swirls and other eye-catching patterns. As much as possible, he tried never to wear the same outfit twice on air.

Sager celebrated his bold clothing choices in Living Out Loud: Sports, Cancer and the Things Worth Fighting For, a memoir published in November of 2016, in which he also addressed his battle with the leukemia that would ultimately take his life.

Following his diagnosis in 2014, Sager received blood transfusions and bone marrow transplants and continued to work as often as possible. He last appearance in a game broadcast came in June of 2016.

Sager died on December 15, 2016, in Atlanta. He was 65.
