Ben Semanoff

Ben Semanoff is a New York based fresh voice who recently transitioned to directing following a successful career behind the A-Camera, having operated on such films as CREED, COLLATERAL BEAUTY and THE UPSIDE as well as WHERE'D YOU GO BERNADETTE. His camera work in television includes HBO's The Leftovers, The Outsider, The Night Of, Showtime's The Affair, among others. He has been nominated for Camera Operator of the Year the last three years in a row; for HBO's The Night Of in 2017 and for seasons one and two of Netflix's Ozark in 2018 and 2019.

Semanoff was nominated for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series for his work directing the "Su Casa Es Mi Casa" episode of the third season of Emmy Juggernaut Ozark, having already directed the penultimate episode of season two.

Ben's initial life plan had him headed in a very different direction. After two years of pre-med, studying neuroscience in college, he decided to follow his passion for the arts. He transferred to Temple University where he graduated from their Film and Media Arts school and began to chase his dream of directing.

A first generation American of Venezuelan decent, Ben lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania with his wife Erica and their two children.
