Al Kasha

Al Kasha was an American film and television musical composer.

With a career that began as a producer at Columbia Records at age 22, Kasha went on to compose works that would appear in film and television soundtracks for over 60 years.

He is best known for his Oscar winning work on The Poseidon Adventure (1972) and The Towering Inferno (1975) with his Best Original Songs "The Morning After" and "We May Never Love Like This Again," respectively.

Kasha was also nominated for his popular song, "Candle on the Water," from the live-animation Disney film Pete's Dragon (1977) and wrote original music for Gidget Goes to Rome (1963), Freaky Friday (1976), and All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989), and for the television series Knots Landing, The Bugaloos, and Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction.

Kasha died September 14, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. He was 83.
