Dawn Olmstead

Dawn Olmstead was recently named CEO and Partner of Anonymous Content, the leading management and film, TV, and branded content company. She will begin in her new role at the end of 2020 and will work closely with Anonymous Content's Partners and the existing leadership team to lead the operations of the company and chart a course for the future. Olmstead joins Anonymous Content from Universal Content Productions (UCP) where she served as President, overseeing all creative and business operations of scripted and non-scripted content for the studio, making her the first female head of a traditional media studio to oversee both.

Olmstead joined NBCUniversal in January 2014 as Executive Vice President, Development, for UCP where she oversaw a range of scripted series in development across the NBCU Cable Entertainment portfolio, which includes USA Network, SYFY, Bravo, E! and Oxygen, as well as for external networks and streaming platforms (Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, Peacock, VRV, and YouTube). In March 2016, her purview expanded to oversee development unscripted as well.

Since joining UCP, Olmstead has shepherded key scripted development projects. Olmstead's first project at the studio was the Emmy & Golden Globe award-winning MR. ROBOT. She followed that up with Golden Globe-nominated THE SINNER, now in its fourth season. Other UCP series of note under her leadership are Amazon's HOMECOMING, which received a two season straight to series order as well as a Golden Globe nomination; USA Network's Golden Globe nominated DIRTY JOHN; THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY, which is one of Netflix's highest performing series of all time, and Hulu's THE ACT, an award-winning series that drove more subscribers to Hulu than any of their other originals. During her time at UCP, she has an impressive track record of more than doubling revenue, OCF, and series volume.

Dawn led several series slated for the new streaming service Peacock: DR. DEATH based on the wildly popular Wondery podcast starring Alec Baldwin, Joshua Jackson and Christian Slater; JOE EXOTIC starring Kate McKinnon; ANGELYNE starring and executive produced by Emmy Rossum; a continuation of the 1980's series PUNKY BREWSTER, and a reboot of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA from Sam Esmail.

Olmstead also continued to expand the studio's reach with premium platforms with upcoming series such as Hulu's THE GIRL FROM PLAINVILLE starring Elle Fanning and CANDY starring Elisabeth Moss; Netflix's BRAND NEW CHERRY FLAVOR starring Rosa Salazar and Catherine Keener; and Starz' GASLIT starring Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, and Armie Hammer and produced by Sam Esmail.

On the unscripted front, Olmstead has partnered with Academy Award winner Errol Morris on the upcoming series A WILDERNESS OF ERROR for FX and with Academy Award nominee Joe Berlinger for the highly rated UNSPEAKABLE CRIME: THE KILLING OF JESSICA CHAMBERS on Oxygen. The studio also produced THE BUSINESS OF DRUGS, a Netflix docuseries.

In 2020, Olmstead launched UCP Audio, a new podcast network which debuted with THE LOST KIDS, a critically praised true-crime investigation podcast series. Other offerings will include THE END UP, a scripted podcast from Esmail's (MR. ROBOT, HOMECOMING) Esmail Corp banner and a robust slate of true-crime podcasts. The new platform will offer storytellers the opportunity to write for multiple platforms, making UCP a one stop shop for whatever story creatives want to tell.

Previously, Olmstead served as an executive producer on Bravo's GIRLFRIENDS' GUIDE TO DIVORCE (UCP), FOX's "Prison Break," "Tru Calling" and "Point Pleasant." She began her career as a segment producer for "Saturday Night Live" and "The Jon Stewart Show." She also executive produced MTV's "Fear," USA Network's "Cannonball Run" and brought "Robot Wars" to America. On the feature side, Olmstead produced "The Experiment," "Black Christmas" and the HBO documentary, "The Living Museum."

Olmstead is also the founder, co-owner and board member of Face Haus, a new concept "facial bar" that is revolutionizing skin care offering high quality yet affordable services. Currently, Face Haus has 10 locations in LA, New York and Dallas. They launched a product line in 2020. She also serves as a board member for YES, "Young Eisner Scholars", a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping underserved students.

Olmstead hails from Brooklyn, New York and holds a dual degree in Fine Arts and Film from Hofstra University. Today she lives in Los Angeles with her husband, writer Matt Olmstead, and their five children.
