Television Academy Daytime, Stunt Govs Team with NATAS for New Daytime Emmy

Daytime Entertainment Emmys to award its first Daytime Stunts Award during its 37th ceremony.

NEW YORK, JAN. 12, 2010 -- In response to suggestions from its own members in the Hollywood Stunts community and to recommendations from the Television Academy Stunts Peer Group, the National Television Academy will for the first time recognize excellence in Daytime Stunt work with the addition of a Daytime Stunt Coordination Emmy® in this year’s competition, it was announced today by Carolyn Grippi, CFO and COO of NATAS.

Working together with the Television Academy’s Daytime Awards Committee, NATAS is implementing the Stunt Coordination competition and award on a one-year trial basis.

To be nominated, the stunt work must have occurred in daytime programming premiering between January 1 and December 31, 2009. This new Daytime Stunt Coordination Emmy will recognize work on a single episode of a series or special. Work on multiple programs may be submitted.

Online entry applications for the new award category are due on January 31, 2010, and the required materials for consideration are due February 19, 2010. For applications and additional information, go to www.daytimeemmys.tv.
