Steve Franken, an actor known for the role of playboy Chatsworth Osborne Jr. on the 1060s TV comedy The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, died August 24, 2012. He was 80.
According to news reports, Franken had cancer.
Following his breakout on Dobie Gillis, Franken enjoyed a long successful career with roles on dozens of other primetime comedies and dramas, including series as disparate as Bewitched and ER.
He also appeared in several feature films, including The Party and, more recently, Angels & Demons.
