NBC4 Tops 65th Los Angeles Area Emmys with 8 Awards, ABC7 second with 7

The prestigious Governors Award was given to Univision Los Angeles for its Educate, Es El Momento initiative.

NBC4 led the winners at the 65th Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards with eight honors, including top regularly scheduled daily daytime newscast for the NBC4 at 6PM broadcast, investigative reporting and hard news reporting.

In the other two regularly scheduled newscast categories, outstanding daily morning newscast went to KTLA5 for its KTLA News at 7AM broadcast and daily evening newscast went to KMEX for Noticias a Las Once.

The Los Angeles Area Emmys honor excellence in programming produced by and for the Los Angeles market. The ceremony took place before a full house at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre on the North Hollywood campus of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Awards in more than forty categories were given for news, sports, entertainment, public affairs and more.

In addition, the prestigious Governors Award was given to Univision Los Angeles for Educate, Es El Momento, a large-scale education outreach initiative that provided valuable information, books and other resources, to thousands of families to empower them to pursue educational opportunities for their children.
