Morgan Paull, Actor Known for Blade Runner and Numerous Television Appearances

Paull's many TV credits include Gunsmoke, Emergency!, The Fall Guy and many others series.

Morgan Paull, an actor most renowned for his role in the acclaimed science fiction movie Blade Runner, died July 17, 2012, in Ashland, Oregon. He was 67.

According to news reports, Paull had been diagnosed with stomach cancer.

Movie fans recall Paull from opening scene of the 1982 classic Blade Runner, as a detective who interviews a job applicant to determined if he is human or a genetically engineered “replicant.”

He also appeared in such feature films as Cahill U.S. Marshall, Patton and Norma Rae, but he worked most extensively in television.

Paull’s numerous credits include episodes of The Patty Duke Show, Ironside, Emergency!, Quincy, M.E., Gunsmoke, Chico and the Man, McCloud, The Fall Guy, Crazy Like a Fox and many other series.

He also provided the voice of Matt Hunter, a character in the animated series Challenge of the GoBots.

In 1981, Paull was a candidate for president of the Screen Actors Guild. When the votes were tallied, he finished third — Ed Asner won the election.

Paull is survived by his longtime companion, two daughters, two sisters, two grandchildren and stepmother.
