Judy Lewis, Actress, Secret Daughter of Hollywood Stars

Lewis, the daughter of Loretta Young and Clark Gable — a fact kept secret for decades — became an actress herself for many years.

Judy Lewis, the daughter of actress Loretta Young who was later revealed to have been fathered by Clark Gable when he and Young had an affair while making the 1935 film The Call of the Wild, died November 25, 2011, in Los Angeles. She was 76.

Lewis, who initially became an actress, later forged a career as a family and child counselor.

Her television credits included The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, Highway Patrol, 77 Sunset Strip, Outlaws, The FBI, The Streets of San Francisco, Police Woman, One Day at a Time, The Secret Storm and General Hospital.

Lewis also wrote for the daytime drama Search for Tomorrow and briefly was a producer for the daytime drama Texas.

In 1994 she wrote a memoir, Uncommon Knowledge, about her upbringing.
