John Patrick Faulstich — Executive, Agent, Manager, Producer

Known as "Pat," Faulstich worked in a number of different industry positions, including executive positions at CBS and Disney

John Patrick Faulstich, who wore multiple career hats — including Hollywood producer, studio executive, agent and manager — died on March 21, 2011, in Port Charlotte, Florida, after a six-year battle with brain cancer. He was 55.

Fondly referred to as "Pat," the California native attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he majored in English. In 1979, he began in the mailroom at International Creative Management in Hollywood, ultimately rising to a literary agent. In 1985, Faulstich moved to CBS as a vice president, and supervised the network’s miniseries, television series and drama development departments. One of the highlights of his stint at CBS was the adaptation of Larry McMurtry’s Lonesome Dove in 1989. He later joined Touchstone Pictures/Disney as a vice president of movie production, followed by a short stint at Propaganda Films.

Faulstich returned to what he enjoyed most, representing writers and directors, at agency Broder Kurland Webb Uffner in 1994, and later formed his own management company, Accurate Representation.

Described as a restless collector, Faulstich collected music and was a regular attendee at flea markets and real estate sales in pursuit of treasures. He pursued photography his entire life, collected music in the form of LP’s and cassettes, and was married to television producer Jennifer Alward, who died from complications of diabetes in 2002.

He is survived by his mother, Claire Faulstich, his sister JoAnne Faulstich, and son Joe Faulstich. He was preceded in death by his father Joe and his brother Don.
