Antoine Ashley, Drag Race's Sahara Davenport

Antoine Ashley, a contestant on the Logo reality series RuPaul’s Drag Race, died October 1, 2012, in New York City. He was 27.

Ashley, who competed on the show in the drag persona Sahara Davenport, vied for the title of "America’s Next Drag Superstar" on the show’s second season in 2010.

Alongside 11 other contestants, Ashley competed for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar on the hit show’s second season in 2010 – but his talents spanned far beyond the realm of reality television.

In addition to Drag Race, Ashley's other television appearances included 15 Films About Madonna, Magnificent Obsessions and One Life to Live.

Also a singer, he released a single, “Go Off,” which reached no. 35 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart.
