Top Maggie Honors to Emmy® Magazine

Emmy® magazine, an official publication of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, continues its Maggies reign, garnering 34 wins over past 10 years

Emmy® magazine, an official publication of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, won two of the top honors at the 62nd Annual Maggie ® Awards, held April 26 in Los Angeles.

The Maggies, hosted by The Western Publishing Association, is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the publishing industry and honors excellence in editorial and design in print and electronic publications in the Western United States.

Emmy magazine takes readers behind the scenes of the television industry for a unique insider's view and profiles the stars of primetime's top shows to the pros behind the cameras. It's also the only publication to showcase the stunning scope of television: the artists, craftspeople and CEOs; programming trends and the boundless advances in technology.

Emmy won Best Overall Publication/Trade, as well as Best Communication, Advertising & The Arts/Trade for the June 2012 For Your Consideration issue, which came on the heels of last year's Maggie wins for Best Cover and Best Series of Editorial Photographs/Trade.

The For Your Consideration issue featured Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty from NBC's Smash on the cover, an essay by renowned British actor Michael York about PBS' Downton Abbey, numerous profiles, including Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer), Kiefer Sutherland (Touch), Woody Harrelson (Game Change), and Jessica Lange (American Horror Story), and pictorials with the casts of True Blood, Happy Endings and Sons of Anarchy.

Emmy magazine first entered the competition in 2002, instantly winning a top prize for Best Communication, Advertising & The Arts/Trade, which the publication has now won five times within its decade-plus total of 34 Maggie wins.

On three occasions it has won the prestigious Best Overall Trade Publication honor. Other multiple wins include Best Cover, Best Theme Issue, Best Overall Design and Best Series of Editorial Photographs/Trade.

For Television Academy members, industry pros and fans who just love great television, Emmy® is the must-read.

The next issue of Emmy® magazine will be available on June 4, 2013, and is the first of two issues to come out that month.

The digital edition of Emmy®, produced by Zinio, can also be downloaded on iPad, Android, Windows 7 and Air devices by visiting EmmyMagazine.com.
