Charlie Haykel, Juliane Hare to Produce the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards

Primetime Emmys executive producer Don Mischer appoints producers for NBC’s August 29 live, coast-to-coast telecast. Danette Herman named co-producer.

North Hollywood, CA – Charlie Haykel, Juliane Hare and Danette Herman have been named to the 62nd Primetime Emmy® Awards production team, executive producer Don Mischer announced today. Haykel and Hare will serve as producers and Herman as coordinating producer of the telecast airing live coast-to-coast on Sunday, August 29 (8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT) on NBC from the NOKIA Theater L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

“I’m excited to have this talented team back once again this year as we celebrate the biggest night in television,” said Mischer. “We look forward to the Primetime Emmy nomination announcements on July 8th and moving into the final stages of planning the show.”

Haykel returns for his second year as a producer for the Primetime Emmys. He has more than 18 years of experience and has enjoyed a longstanding working relationship with Mischer.

In his association with Don Mischer Productions, Haykel produced the acclaimed HBO special, “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial,” the “61st Primetime Emmy Awards,” starring Neil Patrick Harris, and the Super Bowl XXXIX and XL Halftime Shows (featuring Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones, respectively), as well as the 2004 Democratic Convention. In addition, Haykel has executive produced the “2007 Miss America Pageant,” “Moving Image Salutes Will Smith,” BRAVO’s “2008 A-List Awards” and the current “Dance Your Ass Off.” Other producing credits include NBC’s series “The Singing Bee,” ABC’s “The Wayne Brady Show” and numerous specials, including “Movies Rock, Fashion Rocks,” “John Leguizamo’s Sexaholix,” “Christmas in Washington” and “The 52nd Annual Tony Awards.” Haykel also had the pleasure of being on the producing teams for the millennium documentary by Steven Spielberg titled “The Unfinished Journey” and the independent feature films “Bad City Blues” and “Ring Girls.”

Newly named producer Juliane Hare has worked on numerous projects with Mischer, including the Atlanta and Salt Lake City Olympic Ceremonies, the Opening Ceremonies of the Special Olympics in Shanghai, five Emmy telecasts, as well as the Super Bowl XXXIX, XL and XLI Pre-Game and Halftime Shows. She was also a producer on “Movies Rock, Fashion Rocks,” the “2007 Miss America Pageant” and “Moving Image Salutes Will Smith.” In 2009, Hare received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children’s Series as a producer of the PBS series “From the Top at Carnegie Hall.”

Co-Producer Danette Herman has long associations with some of television’s biggest productions. This will be her 22nd year as a key member of the Primetime Emmy production team. She recently completed the “81st Annual Academy Awards” telecast, her 34th non-consecutive show and her 31st year with “The Kennedy Center Honors.” She also worked on “Stand Up to Cancer,” the unprecedented television special that aired simultaneously on ABC, CBS and NBC to raise funds for the fight against cancer.

The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards is being produced by Don Mischer Productions. Nominations for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on July 8 at 5:40 a.m. (PT) from the Television Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood. Nominations will be streamed live at www.Emmys.com.
