Emmy Awards Ratings Rebound

 

Telecast Up at Least 25% in All Demos


 

Felicity Huffman of Desperate Housewives took home the Emmy® for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 57th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

LOS ANGELES, CA – The 57th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards marked a significant ratings increase over last year's numbers.

The three-hour telecast, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and executive produced by Ken Ehrlich, averaged a winning 6.0 rating/15 share in adults 18-49 and 18.6 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen preliminary estimates—up 30% in the demographic vs. last year's show on ABC (4.6/12), which represented the Emmys' lowest numbers in 15 years.

Ratings in other demographics were similarly encouraging. Among all adults 18-34, the Emmys were up 42%; among women 18-34, they were up 49%; among women 18-49, they were up 35%; among men 18-34, they were up 29%; and among men 18-49, they were up 25%.

In addition, the Emmys Awards ratings were the highest of any CBS broadcast since May 23, 2005.
