ALAN ALDA, PORTIA DE ROSSI, LAUREN GRAHAM, JESSE L. MARTIN, CONAN O'BRIEN, AND BLUE MAN GROUP CONFIRMED AS PRESENTERS FOR THE 57TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS Awards Broadcast Live From Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, September 18 on CBS

LOS ANGELES, September 14, 2005 – Alan Alda, Portia de Rossi, Lauren Graham, Jesse L. Martin, Conan O’Brien and Blue Man Group have been confirmed as presenters for the 57th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.  The show will broadcast live from Los Angeles’ historic Shrine Auditorium, Sunday, September 18 (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET Live/PT tape delayed) on the CBS Television Network.

Five-time Emmy winner Alan Alda is nominated this year for his role as ‘Senator Arnold Vinick’ on the Emmy-winning NBC drama series “The West Wing.” He is also the host of the award winning series "Scientific American Frontiers" on PBS. For eleven years on the series "M*A*S*H," Alda played ‘Hawkeye Pierce’ and also wrote and directed many of the episodes. Alda won the Emmy Award five times and is the only person to be honored by the TV Academy as top performer, writer and director. In all, he has been nominated for 31 Emmys including a nomination in 1999 for his performance on ER. In 1994 he was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame. In addition, he has won the Director’s Guild Award three times, has received six Golden Globes, seven People’s Choice Awards, and has been nominated for two Writer’s Guild Awards.  Most recently, this year he received an Academy Award nomination for his role in “The Aviator” and a Tony nomination for “Glengarry Glen Ross.”

Portia de Rossi currently stars as 'Lindsay Bluth Funke' in the Emmy-winning FOX comedy series “Arrested Development,” which is again nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series. Previously, de Rossi portrayed enigmatic lawyer 'Nelle Porter’ on the FOX series “Ally McBeal.” Additionally, she starred in the television movie “America’s Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story” and most recently appeared in the feature film “Cursed.” Other film credits include “Who is Cletis Tout,” “The Night We Called It a Day,” “Scream 2,” “Stigmata,” “Women in Film” and “The Invisibles.”

Lauren Graham currently stars as ‘Lorelai Gilmore’ on the WB series “Gilmore Girls,” a role for which she received a 2002 Golden Globe nomination, SAG nominations in 2001 and 2002 and a 2002 TCA Award nomination.  She has appeared in such features as “The Pacifier,” “The Moguls,” “Bad Santa” and “Sweet November. “  Graham’s other television credits include series “M.Y.O.B,” “Conrad Bloom,” “Townies” and “Good Company.”

Jesse L. Martin currently stars as ‘Detective Edward Green’ on the Emmy-winning NBC drama series “Law & Order.” Martin received critical acclaim for his recurring role on “Ally McBeal” as Ally’s boyfriend, ‘Dr. Greg Butters.’  He also guest-starred as a disenfranchised alien on “The X-Files,” in an episode written and directed by series star David Duchovny. Martin was an original cast member of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Rent” and can be seen in the upcoming film version. Other television credits include “413 Hope Street,” “New York Undercover” and the telefilm “Deep In My Heart.”

Conan O’Brien currently stars as host of “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” on NBC.  “Late Night” garnered its first-ever Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy-Variety Series in 2003 and since 1996, O’Brien and the “Late Night” writing team have consistently been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy or Variety Series.  He and the “Late Night” writing staff have won four Writer’s Guild Award for Best Writing in a Comedy/Variety Series, including two consecutive wins in 2002 and 2003. O’Brien also hosted the 54th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards and previously worked as a writer on “The Simpsons” and “SNL.”

Blue Man Group is best known for their exciting theatrical productions featuring three bald and blue characters and a band.  They are currently featured in the storyline of the Emmy-nominated FOX series “Arrested Development” and are launching a production in Las Vegas at The Venetian hotel.  Other projects include rock concert Complex Rock Tour, CD’s “Audio” and “The Complex,” and performances and storylines on “The Drew Carey Show” and the animated feature “Robots.”

The 57th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards is being produced by Ken Ehrlich Productions and is presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.  Ken Ehrlich is the executive producer; Michael B. Seligman and Renato Basile are the producers; Danette Herman is the coordinating producer and executive in charge of talent.  Bruce Gowers will direct.
