ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES ANNOUNCES NOMINEES FOR THE 59th ANNUAL LOS ANGELES AREA EMMY AWARDS

North Hollywood, CA, July 12, 2007 – Dick Askin, Chairman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, today announced 138 nominations in 41 categories for the 59th Annual Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards.

The 59th Annual Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards presentation will be held Saturday evening, August 25, 2007 at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.

Also presented will be the annual Los Angeles Area Governors Award, which is given to an individual, company or an organization for outstanding achievement in the arts and sciences. This year’s Governors Award will be presented to Telemundo KVEA 52’s “Mejorando Su Vida”.

Los Angeles area nominations and the three station award categories for regularly scheduled news have been judged by peer group panels convened in Chicago, Florida, National Chesapeake Bay, New York and San Francisco.

A complete list of today's nominations as tabulated by the Television Academy’s accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP is attached. The nominations have been listed alphabetically by program within each category.
Hal Eisner is the Vice Chair of the Academy for the Los Angeles Area Peer Group. Joetta Di Bella and Mitch Waldow are the Los Angeles Area Governors.
