Crew Call: Casting Director David Rubin

Practicing the matchmaker's art.

Our latest Crew Call takes us inside the world of casting director David Rubin.

Likening his job to that of a matchmaker, pairing actors with  other actors, filmmakers, and scripts, he has become known for casting actors to portray real people.

With film credits ranging from Mel Brooks's Spaceballs to Gravity and Wild, and television movies Game Change and Temple Grandin, Emmy Award winner Rubin (Game Change) talks about his craft and how casting in its best version "can make the piece even richer than the filmmakers had originally envisioned."
