Dennis Dalzell, Primetime Emmy-Nominated Cinematographer

Dennis Dalzell, cinematographer for film and television, died July 4, 2012, in Woodland Hills, California. He was 76.
Dalzell was part of an entertainment industry family. His father, Archie Dalzell, was also a cinematographer, his brother David was a camera operator and his sister Patti was a script supervisor. He also had a son and nephews in the business.
He served as director of photography on numerous television shows after starting his career as a camera assistant in the 1950s. The Rookies, Murder, She Wrote, Charlie's Angels, V, Bring ’Em Back Alive and The New Adventures of Wonder Woman, among others.
He earned his Emmy nomination for The Winds of Kitty Hawk the same year that his father was nominated as a cinematographer for the miniseries Ike: The War Years.
Dalzell was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
