Sigourney Weaver is known for her three-time Academy Award winning role of “Ellen Ripley” in the Alien films. She has starred as “Dana Barrett” in Ghost Busters I & II and appeared in Woody Allen’s Annie Hall, The Ice Storm, Working Girl, Death and the Maiden, and Avatar. “The Sci-Fi Queen,” as she is often nicknamed, played gay rights crusader “Marry Griffith” in the Lifetime movie Prayers for Bobby. After portraying “Dian Fossey” in Gorillas in the Mist, Weaver became an honorary chairperson an avid supporter of The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
