Ricky Gervais

Ricky Gervais writes, produces, directs and plays the title character in the Netflix original series Derek.

The British performer played the role of David Brent in his home country’s original version of The Office and was a producer on the successful American version of the comedy starring Steve Carell. 

He has been nominated for multiple Emmy and Golden Globes and won the Golden Globe for his work on The Office. He is also a two-time host of the Golden Globe Awards.

An expert at mining humor from awkward situations, Gervais’ other television work includes the role of Andy Millman on Extras and playing versions of himself on Life’s Too Short and The Ricky Gervais Show.

His many guest star appearances include The Simpsons, Alias, Louie and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He has also appeared in several films including Ghost Town, Night at the Museum and For Your Consideration.
