Julie Bowen plays "Claire Dunphy" on Modern Family, a role that earned her two consecutive Primetime Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Bowen landed her first break, the lead in indie film Five Spot Jewel, while finishing a degree at Brown University. She was soon seen in actor-director Ed Burns film No Visible Bruises. Bowen went on to appear on Boston Legal with William Shatner and James Spader, with Mary Louise Parker on Weeds, and in the recurring Lost role of wife to "Dr. Jack Shephard" (Mathew Fox). Among her movie credits: Happy Gilmore with Adam Sandler, Jumping the Broom with Angela Basset, and Horrible Bosses with Jason Bateman. She hosted the 2012 Billboard Music Awards along with her Modern Family costar Ty Burrell.
