Frances Conroy received four Primetime Emmy® nominations for her performance as “Ruth Fisher” in the HBO miniseries Six Feet Under. Born in Georgia and a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, Conroy has appeared in several Broadway productions, including Ring Round the Moon, The Little Foxes and The Ride Down Mt. Morgan, for which she earned a Tony nomination. She has also been in seen in such feature films as Sleepless in Seattle, The Aviator and Shopgirl. Her other TV credits include Murder in a Small Town, Law & Order, Desperate Housewives and, more recently, United States of Tara, American Horror Story and How I Met Your Mother.
