Brendan Coyle

British actor Brendan Coyle is valet “John Bates” on acclaimed series Downton Abbey, in which he stars alongside Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael and Jim Carter. Coyle is also recognized for his role of “Damon” in The Jacket, “Reagan” in The Raven, and his appearance in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. He won a Laurence Oliver Award for his performance in The Weir and took home a New York Critics Theater World Award for the New York version of the play. Coyle also stars as “Terry” in the television series Starlings.
