Wyenn was perhaps best known for his roles in the features Being There, Splash and Imitation of Life, but his extensive body of work in television is, arguably, even more impressive.
He worked steadily in television from the 1950s through the ’80s and appeared in dozens of popular programs, including Dragnet, Perry Mason, Zorro, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Twilight Zone, The Six Million Dollar Man, Barnaby Jones, Hart to Hart, Wanted: Dead or Alive, The Untouchables, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Mission: Impossible, Quincy M.E. and T.J. Hooker, as well as numerous telefilms.
The New York City native began his acting as a teenager and studied for a time with renowned teacher Lee Strasberg. He got his start in the theater, and his performance in a Los Angeles production of the play Once Upon a Tailor brought him attention and an agent, which led to opportunities in movies and TV. He remained active in the theater by founding the Yiddish Kinder Theater in Los Angeles.
Wyenn died January 30, 2015, in Woodland Hills, California. He was 95.
