Tony Longo was a character actor best known for his roles as menacing tough guys in films such as Splash, Mulholland Drive and The Last Boy Scout.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Longo was born in New Jersey and moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980s, getting work almost immediately. He appeared in the television series Private Benjamin, Laverne & Shirley, CHiPs, St. Elsewhere, Fantasy Island, The Facts of Life, Who's the Boss?, Full House, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Coach, Get Smart, ER, Nash Bridges, Family Matters, Step by Step, The X-Files, Six Feet Under, Monk, Las Vegas, Crossing Jordan, The Mentalist and Shameless. In the series Alice, Hell Town, Shaky Ground, Police Academy: The Series, Days of Our Lives, Alibi Boys and The Young and the Restless, he had recurring roles. In the last of which he played private investigator Ray in 46 episodes from 1999 to 2006.

He has also appeared in the films How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Feds, The Takeover, Living in Peril, 16 Candles, The Cooler, Suburban Commando and Fletch, among others.

Due to his appearance his characters often had names such as Tank Malone, Truck, Hacksaw, Stump, Ironman, Fat Jack, Terry 'The Tiger' Tyrell, Rock, Rikers, Rizzo, Konrat, Knuckles, Bruce, Moose and Big Tony. From 1984 to 1989 he played Mad Dog Smears in the HBO comedy series1st & Ten: The Championship, which followed fictional football team the "California Bulls."

Longo died on June 21, 2015, in Marina del Rey, California. He was 53.
