Tony Lara

Tony Lara was a crab-boat captain who appeared on the Discovery Channel documentary series Deadliest Catch. He was captain of the Cornelia Marie.

Lara, who was a crabbing catcher, appeared on six episodes of the show during its seventh season, which aired in 2011.

The success of the series led to several specials, including List on Bait and After the Catch. Lara appeared on a 2011 episode of the latter, which featured the stars of Deadliest Catch in a bar swapping stories of their adventures. He also appeared in the compilation special Deadliest Catch: Best of Season 7.

Lara died August 10, 2015, in Sturgis, South Dakota. He was 50.
