Sylvia Moy was a songwriter and producer best known for her collaboration with Stevie Wonder. She also worked with Marvin Gaye and the Isley Brothers.

With Wonder, she co-wrote “My Cherie Amour” and “Uptight (Everything’s Alright),” among others, and her collaborations were featured often in both films and on television.

Moy’s work could be heard on the soundtracks of the films Almost Famous, Pirate Radio, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Glory Road, and Silver Linings Playbook. Additionally, her collaborations were used on The Sonny and Cher Show, Growing Pains, Night Court, Quantum Leap, Cybill, Early Edition, Six Feet Under, American Idol, Everybody Hates Chris, The West Wing, Glee and New Girl.

Moy died April 15, 2017, in Dearborn, Michigan. She was 78.
