Robert H. Schuller

Robert H. Schuller was a Protestant pastor who brought his ministry to television as a weekly Sunday morning program broadcast from the world-famous glass-paneled Crystal Cathedral in Orange County, California.

As a part of the Reformed Church in America, Schuller’s Protestant evangelism first attracted a following in 1955, growing to 20 million viewers in about 180 countries in its 1990s heyday. He began broadcasting his Hour of Power in 1970; his son, Robert A. Schuller, took over as senior pastor in 2006, which lasted two years. He also appeared regularly on the TBN Christian television series Praise the Lord.

The senior Schuller’s positive-thinking messages were delivered from the 2,800 seat sanctuary of the Crystal Cathedral, built in 1981. He also wrote more than 30 books, including Move Ahead with Possibility Thinking and The Be (Happy) Attitudes: 8 Positive Attitudes That Can Transform Your Life.
