Richard Bonehill was an actor and stuntman known for his work on Star Wars films as a stormtrooper, Rebel soldier and other characters in the franchise. He was also an expert swordsman and horseman and often served as the sword master or fencing coach on sets.

In Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI — Return of the Jedi, Bonehill appeared in a variety of roles, including a TIE fighter pilot, a Tauntaun handler and a Nien Nunb creature, among others. Bonehill also appeared in the films Flash Gordon, Top Secret!, Rob Roy and Highlander. As a stuntman or sword master, he worked on the films The Wicked Lady, Robinson Crusoe, The Man in the Iron Mask, Prince Valiant, The Avengers, The Count of Monte Cristo and George and the Dragon.

His work in television included appearances on the series Doctor Who and Robin Hood, both U.K. productions that aired in the U.S. He also worked on the television movies Ivanhoe, The Zany Adventures of Robin Hood, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, Sherlock, the Disney telefilm Princess of Thieves, starring Keira Knightley, and the BBC miniseries Bleak House.

Bonehill served as the former head coach and president of the Truro Fencing Club in England, a prestigious group that fostered the talent of three fencers in the 2012 London Olympics.
