Mark S. Turner

Mark Steven Turner was an art director, painter and sculptor who worked on numerous feature films and television programs.

A native of Roanoke, Virginia, he began his entertainment career in the mid 1980s with credits on such films as Year of the Dragon, Raw Deal and Blue Velvet. In the years that followed he also worked on Manhunter, Chattahoochee, Betsy's Wedding, FreejackA Kiss Before Dying and others.

His television credits included The Lost Capone, Touched by an Angel, Babylon 5, Gun, Sally Hemmings: An American Scandal, Cane and Dirt.

For many years he ran the paint department at the former DeLaurentiis Studio in Wilmington, North Carolina, and he was a longtime member of the Art Directors Guild (IATSE local 800), Motion Picture Set Painters and Sign-Writers (IATSE local 729) and the Television Academy.

Turner died March 14, 2014, in Wilmington. He was 57.
