Mark Cohen was a former business executive at ABC Broadcast Group and Capital Cities/ABC.

Cohen held various business planning and analysis positions in the early 1970s before being named vice president in charge of planning and development for ABC Television in 1974. He became the senior vice president of finance and planning in 1976, and a year later, he was promoted as senior vice president of ABC Television. 

In 1981, Cohen also became the vice president of ABC, Inc. He occupied the position until 1985, when he was promoted to executive vice president. Cohen left the network three years later.

In 1981, Cohen also became the vice president of ABC, Inc. He occupied the position until 1985, when he was promoted to executive vice president. Cohen left the network three years later.

A native of Lewiston, Maine, Cohen first worked in ABC’s clearance department in 1958. After moving to network sales in 1961, he became the director of sales planning in 1964. Three years later, he assumed the role of vice president of sales planning.

In addition to his work at ABC, Cohen served as president of the international council of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and vice president of the International Radio and Television Society.

A first lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957, Cohen graduated with a degree in business administration from the University of Maine and received his master’s degree in television production from Syracuse University.

Cohen died on Dec. 31, 2013, in Mount Kisco, New York. He was 81.
