Marie Carter was a makeup artist best known for her Emmy-nominated work on the telefilm The Josephine Baker Story, starring Lynn Whitfield. Carter also had a small role as a hotel maid in the 1991 television movie.

Additionally, Carter worked frequently on films starring Eddie Murphy, including Coming to America, Harlem Nights and Vampire in Brooklyn.

She also contributed to the television series Falcon Crest, The Best Times, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, The Parent ‘Hood and CBS Schoolbreak Special.

Carter died January 2, 2017.
